Empty a single_select

I have a single_select_field with a lookup table and use ajax to load the options.
Now I want to empty the field value of an existing entry.

How to do?

there is no "empty row" or a "x" to empty or something like this...

isn't the first option blank? It should be blank, you can just choose the blank option.

Because of loading the options with ajax userfriendly from a lookup table (with round about 22.000 options) I don't have a "first option"
In this cases it would be useful to have the possibility to empty the filed. At the moment I have a "dummy" in my lookuptable with "000_dummy"
