Hi there

I have looked at the demo versions of DaDaBik and it is more or less what I need! Fantastic - I downloaded it!

But what do I do with it?

I have successfully unzipped the files.
I have upped all the files as per instructions.
I have changed the config.php to how I would like it.
I cannot Run the file - Well, am i doing this correctly. I have typed in the full address, including .php on a browser.
The browser then says save to file or open from location. I guessed open from location. It opens the text file. That's it!

I think there is more to it than I think.

Could you help me - My first ever time trying to set up a db on a web server.

Basically, I am using it for music listings so that users of the web site can search under artists or song names. There will also be a code for each song - i.e. a disc number (alpha numeric).

Please help. I would love to get this going.

By the way, this might help you help me, it says that requirements are a server that supports php - YES I am 99.9% sure I do - I pay for it and I am sure they support it.
It also says MySQL - What is this? A program that I need on my computer? Or on the server?

Please help

Also, MySQL host - I typed in localhost - I am not sure if this is correct!

Thank you thank you for reading so far!

Thank you in anticipation of some help.

MySQL is a free database program that has to be loaded into your server at the hosting end. A database has to be created in it for your account. You will then have to create a table for your data in it. Then you will have to provide a random name of an internal table for DaDaBIk. Then you can run the DaDaBIk install.php. Then you must edit this internal table to suit your needs. Then you can go to index.php and enjoy DaDaBIk!
