It's a big bump from 2006, but I've got the same question in 2019 and the solution above does not work anymore (can't edit the business_logic-file anymore). Is there another way to do this in DaDaBik 9.3?

UPDATE: I have done a complete reinstallation and now it seems to work again.

I'm using DaDaBik 9.3 on php 7.3.5 on http://naturalisaties.decalonne.nl I've set $enable_authentication and $enable_granular_permissions both to 1 and created a public_user in group 2 (default), with a blank password and set $username_public_user to 'public_user'. That seems to be working...
