My DaDaBIK Demo

I have put up a working demo of DaDaBIK for everyone to check out. I knew nothing about databases when I started with version 2.1 several years ago but was quickly hooked on this wonderful program.

Since then I have built and maintain three intranet websites that use the latest version of DaDaBIK 4.2. I hope to see the development of this program continue and I appreciate all the help I have received from the other members of this forum.

The demo site is running on the current version 4.2. If you have any questions or comments please post them to this thread.

Thanks :)

Added a small mod to the results table. You can no longer see the "Update" link unless you are logged in.

Did a couple more mods to the update record section. In my demo there is a Date Received, Received By and a Save button to update that record.

In my original mod the Date Received was set to read only once that field was populated. And the Received By was set to disabled once that field was populated.

I wanted to also disable the Save button once a record had been updated (received) which has also been done.

I also changed the Date Received to disabled from read only as I think it looks a little cleaner.

JP... WONDERFUL!!!!!

Just researching Dadabik and I think your demo has helped me to decide to look into this product further.

Is there a way to download the demo source? Just asking... haven't even download Dadabik yet but will definitely as soon as I get time between my two part-time jobs...

Thanks...

Andrea,

Thank you for the compliment. I'm glad this has inspired you. Dadabik has served me well over the years and still does. I have three intranet sites that use Dadabik, I don't know what I would have done without it.

I don't have this demo available as a package. It has been modified quite a bit with the help of other users on the forum. I'll try to answer any questions you may have. This was built on version 4.2, I have not messed with the latest release as I'm sure it would require some mods to work the way I needed it for my application.

JP,

Okay... it is just that I read all the modifications you did to the base version and there seemed to be a number of them that would be very helpful... you know what they say about 'the wheel'...anyway... I have a few other projects I'm working on and one of them involves working with a database so I figured I should design it so I could test out DaDaBik. I'll contact you when and if I ever do get around to trying this on my very own.

Thanks for being there...

TTFN.. Andrea
